For gaming and video editing/3D rendering and modelling. Which one would you guys suggest? Without being a fanboy and biased. I just need honest and reliable answer. RTX 3070 or RX 6800 XT I am far from the budget needed for my dream build but, atleast I just want a concrete target.

the main reason I am going with a NVIDIA card is because of DLSS, I play at 1080p, I currently have a RTX 2060 and I do not mind the weird stuff that happens in mainly reflections/ghosting. on Cold War I can play at max settings and have 80+ fps, (quality DLSS) when I turn it off I dip down to 50-60 and I also noticed that I get less frame drops with DLSS on

"no purchase necessary? how the hell does that work?" exactly like they say, microcenter lures you in with a free $4 flash drive or sd card and you end up spending $100 you wouldnt have spent otherwise, the few people who make the trip for JUST the flash drive/sd are few and far between so they do not lose (much if any) money almost everyone who would go to microcenter would be going there for other stuff already, everyone subscribed to their physical, email or even just grabs a ad flyer in their stores already knows about these and they have been doing it all the way back when they had 1 gig drives and its only been getting better and better!

If each GPU was £100 cheaper than team Grn at least then team Red may have a fighting chance... With the 6900XT costing $999 and then the 3080TI at $999 in the new yr, as RG mentioned team Red have lost their pricing legacy. i was having High hopes for the 6900XT but... good job tho team Red olny 1 step behind not six now :).

The thing for me that wasn't mentioned in the video is that as a developer I use linux. And sure Nvidia drivers are easy to get on the most popular linux distributions. On ubuntu you just check a box when installing to get the nvidia drivers. Sadly in many linux distros places and subsystems if you will, this is not the case, countless of project and distributions have broken nvidia drivers or very hard to get working nvidia drivers. Meanwhile while Nvidia has a barely working propriety linux driver package that you may be able to install. With AMD, the drivers are as un-complicated as an integrated GPU. AMD works with linux to get the drivers into the linux kernel. There's no getting AMD video drivers on linux, they just are a core part of linux. Going with a heavy AMD based system on Linux you would never even have to know what a driver even is in the first place. For this opensource open nature of AMD and their success in datacentres etc, I will be buying AMD cards, I don't want to even know the drivers exist nvm trying different versions for different games, different versions still for older games etc, no, AMD, it just works. I'm sure they will catch up on all they're missing real quick. Was it not found the Nvidia AI Chat denoiser still works with an AMD card if you cheat the utility that you're running AMD... Obviously that's not very user friendly but definitely shows how little work there's to be done to catch up. I hope AMD sticks with their many purpose cores rather than splitting off into rasterization cores, AI cores, RT cores etc.

Ok the Card manufacturers NEED to have meetings with the Game manufacturers because it is now better to keep buying the latest cards!! but your games keep them 12 months old and enjoy the full graphics rip? not only that a game 12 months old on steam you will get at least 50% off (will power) all you need. So don't jump in and buy it add it to your wishlist on steam and you will be bombarded with deals along the way !! to buy it but how long can you hold em

I think the large amount VRAM is going to prove to be an advantage in the long term. Because of cars availability and pricing in my region, the pc I just built has an RTX2060 with 6GB of VRAM (cards are incredibly expensive over here, seriously). I'm actually happy with the performance I'm getting at 1080p, but here's something I'm noticing: some games can't run at their fullest, not because of lack of performance, but because of VRAM. Call of Duty warzone, for example comfortably runs at over 90-100 fps most of the time with almost everything turned on, but there's stuff I can't turn on without reaching the VRAM limit and causing the game to crash. As games become more and more demanding, the amount of VRAM necessary to run them will also increase, even at current resolutions. Some games already push to 8GB for all of their settings maxed out, which will leave a card like the 3070, which has a lot of horsepower, already close to its limit.

The title to this video is misleading click-bait: In distillation, this review gives AMD a participation award for continuing to improve their GPU performance, but acknowledges that performance cannot stand with NVIDIA GPU’s, and are not good choices for video editors, or even some games- opinions supported by benchmark and performance reviews in numerous other places. A new GPU that underperforms in the same currently available price class of cards does “NOT disappoint”? Really? Unfortunately, people who don’t follow reviews to their conclusion (such as a friend who offered this very video as “proof” I should go with AMD) will make the wrong decision because of your misleading, self-serving click-bait title. I could never subscribe to someone who has the ethics of a cheap tabloid.

DLSS isn't that good. You cannot upscale low res frames by using data from a previous high res frame and motion vector information. The reason is simple: 1/3 of the time you strafe the camera fast and those frames don't have a relation, so you just have low internal res. Another 1/3 you strafe slowly and again far objects are just low res wile the main character closer to you looks ok. Just the last 1/3 of the time you standing still or moving straight and from than 1/4 is a high res frame and the rest upscaled. The correct comparison should be done vs Radeon Boost with similar settings as the DLSS level. As for RT just wait for games with FidelityFX SSSR and Denoiser, today's RT is optimized for NV.

I mean, you can't buy any GPUs at the moment anyway but I think the AMD 6xxx series would be more fairly compared to the RTX 2xxx series. As you said, last gen ray tracing. Plus, you've not got a 6900 XT to compare here. Having said that, there's no denying that AMD are still behind Nvidia on that basis. Maybe we'll gen a 6xxxx Gen 2 set of cards that are more 3xxx comparable.
